Alex Brown

Alex is a renaissance man in his approach to painting and teaching, embracing a wide variety of subjects including portraits, landscapes, still life and abstracts. What unifies all his work is his love of colour and observation. He approaches his work with a scientific, structured method of seeing; analysing what nature gives us to appreciate. His palette knife work is full of vigour and expression using this difficult technique to capture the bold forms and colours he loves so much.

Alex Brown gained his degree in Fine Art Painting at Camberwell School of Art in the early 80s and has been a professional exhibiting artist ever since. He has work in private collections in the UK and abroad as well as public collections including The Transport Museum London and Art for Hospitals.

He is also an accomplished tutor with many years' experience.
